Appointment or Consultation

Finding a therapist you feel
comfortable with is very important

My name is Sylvia Flanagan and I’m a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in San Diego offering therapy to individuals and couples.  Whether you seek counseling to improve a relationship, get support during a rough transition, find relief from painful situations and emotions, or to enhance personal growth, therapy can be a great help.

Studies indicate the biggest determinant of successful therapy is the alliance between client and counselor. I do my best to create a safe and comfortable environment conducive to positive change. Many clients have described me as easy going, gentle and down to earth, yet challenging

I believe that being challenged in a safe, respectful and supportive environment lays potential for movement and growth. Ultimately, my clients control the direction of therapy, but I do my best to nudge them away from the familiar where I hope they can make discoveries and reach their goals having richer lives and more satisfying relationships.

I hope my website makes your decision easier and answers many of your questions. After looking around my site, if you still have questions, I’d be happy to answer them and help you determine whether I’m the right therapist for you!
